Hey everyone! I’m Brian Danuff, one of the new writers here at Amazin’ Prospects!
I was born and raised a few miles north of New York City in Westchester County, but I’m currently studying journalism at Emerson College in Boston. I live and breathe baseball…but not the baseball most readers would prefer me to live and breathe.
Yes, I’m a Yankees fan, but I never root against the Mets…well except for the Subway Series, of course.
In all seriousness, I want the Mets to be a healthy, stable, winning organization (like my Yankees). Their postseason runs in 2006 and 2015 were genuinely a lot of fun to watch, and when both New York teams are doing well, baseball is doing well.
The Mets are definitely in an interesting position. Hiring Brodie Van Wagenen was a bold choice, and no one seems to know how this offseason is going to play out. There are more exciting prospects in the system than the Mets get credit for, but some still hope to see Van Wagenen blow it all up and punt the team’s championship hopes into the mid-2020s.
To that I say: maybe that’s the best option! But maybe it isn’t! I look forward to finding the answer, one way or another, while reading and writing here at Amazin’ Prospects.
- Year I became a Mets fan: never! But I started religiously following baseball in 2005.
- Favorite Met: David Wright
- Favorite Mets moment: David Wright’s home run in Game 3 of the 2015 World Series
- Least favorite Mets moment: the Mets’ four-game sweep of the Yankees in 2013
