New York Mets (MLB):

The New York Mets (27-27) evened their series against the Dodgers at one apiece.

  • LHP Steven Matz pitched 6 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, walking 3 and striking out 6. Matz went 1-2 at the plate.
  • RF Michael Conforto went 1-4 with a go-ahead grand slam in the 7th. He had 5 RBI’s and had a walk.


Syracuse Mets (Triple-A):

The Syracuse Mets (26-24) won big against the Buffalo Bisons (Toronto Blue Jays) 16-2.


Binghamton Rumble Ponies (Double-A):

The Rumble Ponies (28-18) beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels 2-1 in 10 innings.

  • Harol Gonzalez pitches 7 innings allowing 1 unearned run, walked 2, and struck out 5.
  • Andres Gimenez went 1-4 with the go-ahead RBI single in the 10th.


St. Lucie Mets (Class-A Advanced):

The St. Lucie Mets (26-24) won 8-5 against the Jupiter Hammerheads.

  • Luc Rennie went 4.2 innings allowing 4 runs only 1 earned, walked 1 and struck out 4.
  • Blake Taylor pitches a scoreless ninth for his 7th save on the year.
  • Carlos Cortes went 1-3 with a 2-run home run.
  • Blake Tiberi went 2-5 on the day with a double.


Columbia Fireflies (Class A):

The Fireflies (20-32) won 7-4 against the Charleston RiverDogs.

  • Jose Butto allowed only 1 hit through 6 innings while striking out 6 and walking 3.
  • Shervyen Newton stayed hot and went 3-5 with a 2-run homer, his second on the year.


The New York Mets and all of its affiliates in action with the exception of the Columbia Fireflies have games tomorrow.
